The pear-shaped, 1.27 ct Ethiopian opal is set in 22k yellow gold (with sterling behind the opal), and gets a hint of sparkle from the addition of a round, post-consumer recycled diamond. Both the bail and diamond setting are hand-fabricated from 18k yellow gold.
