In previous posts, I’ve had a lot of fun showing off the jewelry that I’ve created. But one of the great joys of going to shows and meeting other designers is getting a chance to see and own some of their gorgeous creations. Now it’s time to show off some jewelry by friends and colleagues!
It’s been a fantastic summer – after I went to Albuquerque for the Saul Bell Awards and the Santa Fe Symposium, I went to Las Vegas to exhibit at Premier, and shortly after that headed up to Grand Marais, Minnesota for the Findings Symposium at the Grand Marais Art Colony.
Confession: Before I created a collection for the pearl-themed show at Aaron Faber in spring of 2018, I hadn't considered pairing them with my Origami Collection. But now, I’m a convert! So I thought I’d dig into how they’re formed, the differences between various types, and a few tips for pearl care. And this post is especially timely because pearls are June's birthstone! I just returned from Albuquerque, New Mexico, where I attended the Santa Fe Symposium and the Saul Bell Awards (spoiler alert: I won!), both hosted by the jewelry supply company Rio Grande. My husband Adam was excited to join me, and we had the best time on our trip!
