I'm delighted to announce that I have won one of this year's International Pearl Design Competition awards from the Cultured Pearl Association of America!

My 18k gold edged Double Hyacinth Fold Ring with Freshwater Pearl |
The judges were Jean Francois Bibet, workshop and production director at Cartier; and Patricia Faber, co-owner of Aaron Faber Gallery in Manhattan. Judging took place on February 6 and eight winners were chosen across seven categories for the U.S. Division, as well as one Popularity award winner (chosen via Instagram voting).
To all of you who went to Instagram to vote for me - thank you so much! I can't tell you how much I appreciate your support. I didn't end up winning the Popularity award, but am even more excited to have been chosen by the judges to win the Orient Award - which is described as a piece which "appeals to an emerging pearl jewelry collector—someone who has never before thought of wearing pearls—through attractive design, innovative use of pearls, and an accessible price."
It was such an incredible honor to know that both the production director at Cartier (!!!) and the owner of Aaron Faber Gallery (the preeminent jewelry gallery in NYC) examined my work and judged it to be worthy of this award!
My ring will now go on to be part of a pearl exhibition at the Aaron Faber Gallery.
